Of Late

Momma is a slave-driver... Here's Josh at the playoff game. It was so fun...for the first half. haha

We love this picture.

It's already getting hot here. Let's just bring the activities indoors.

Bubble baths. She's sitting up now.

I just love when babies can sit up, but they can't go anywhere.

Josh spent his b-day money (happy 31st!) on new baseball gloves for him and the kids. Kellen has been begging to play catch, and we didn't have any mitts. What a great dad.

Bummer

We lost tonight, but played the #11 team in the state well. Just wanted to let y'all know.

More Kellen Quotes

(Kellen was in a bad mood and hungry one night while I was fixing dinner.)

Bonnie (excitedly): Kellen, we're having tater tots with our dinner!
Kellen: Bonnie, TATER is NOT a WORD!!!!

True, very true. But still not OK to yell at your sister.
******************************************************************
Tonight we had the basketball team over. As they were leaving, Kellen was telling them goodbye. One player in particular, he said, "Good-bye, Defense!" I guess I yell "DEFENSE" so much that Kellen thinks it's someone's name.

That's all for now.

Playoff Game

We found out tonight that Josh's team's playoff game will be on Tuesday at 8 in Dayton, just in case anyone wants to come cheer the Panthers on against Hardin-Jefferson HS.

Quote of the day...

(This is after coming in from playing soccer in the beautiful weather. Then the kids picked out a DVD that I said they could watch while I was fixing dinner.)

Kellen: That was the most fun I've had in years!!!

Well, maybe you had to be there. But I cracked up.

6 Months Old

We think she's just about perfect. And yes, I need to vacuum.

For comparison's sake, here was Kellen at 6 months.

And here was Bonnie. It definitely appears that all our kids have had the drooling gene.

Update: Better This Morning!

I'm still sore today, but it looks like I'll be able to move. Thanks for your prayers. They worked!

P.S. Awhile ago I actually looked into purchasing disability insurance for myself. I didn't dig too deep, but the company I looked at wouldn't issue a policy if you don't make an income. That's a little crazy.

Prayer Request

I was changing Noelle's sheet this morning and I threw out my back, resulting in very severe pain. I've been to the doctor and got some medicine but apparently I'm supposed to rest. Josh is at home being me right now, but this is temporary and I really need to get better. All you moms know what I mean.

Thanks for your prayers!

Playoff-bound!

Well, the Liberty Panthers basketball team has made the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, after winning last night by 3 in TRIPLE OVERTIME. This is a neat thing for a school that has been through so much this year (see: Hurricane Ike, etc.). We're so proud of the boys and of course proud of their coach. There are 2 more regular season games, and then playoffs will start 2 weeks from tonight. **Sorry for the poor picture quality. I guess I need to not be cheap and get a good camera.

P.S. Last night someone mentioned that the game was "fun." It is not fun for the coach's wife to have to (should I say it?) suffer though 3 overtimes. I'm thankful not to have fainted or had a heart attack.

A few quotes from Bonnie:
**********************************
Bonnie: Kellen, hide, quick!
Kellen: Why?
B: Because I don't want to see your face!
**********************************
Me: Bonnie, do you need to go potty?
B: No, I didn't tee-tee in my panties.
Me: (How long have we been working on this?) Um, you're supposed to go potty before you tee-tee in your panties.
B: Oh.
**********************************
And finally, to the painter that spent the morning in our house:
"What are you doing?" (about a million times)
"I'm faster than my sister because I have broccoli in my body."

I'm glad she gets the point of healthy eating but I'm pretty sure there is no broccoli in her body. Kellen, however, still falls for the trick.

Friday Night's Basketball Game

Poor Bonnie. I don't think actually letting her be a cheerleader factors into either Josh's or my plans. I make her wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants under her outfit.

And in case you missed it on Josh's blog...

When he told me that he had torn the seat of his pants, I thought I'd be able to fix it. He didn't tell me he had actually torn the fabric. So long, pants. As y'all know by now, Josh can be quite exhuberant.
We had to come home before halftime on Friday night. I'm going to have to have someone come and keep Noelle while I take the big kids to the games (we only have 2 home games left). She is such an easygoing baby, but the combination of being tired and too much noise left her screaming on Friday night.
