Bonnie Quotes

After Kellen was a little disappointed when he found out that Bonnie got to ride with Josh on the school bus at a cross country meet:

"Kellen, I knew you would be cross."

And a little song:

"B-I-B-L-E, B-I-B-L-E, B-I-B-L-E, and Bingo was his name-o!"

My mom is moving out tomorrow. I have a lot to do getting the house reorganized and it pretty much feels like we're moving in all over again. I'm very much looking forward to finally being settled for the first time in a long time. I didn't even hang many pictures in our last house because it just didn't feel like we'd be there very long.

Long time no blog

I'm trying to upload pictures and not having success so I'll just write for now. Here's a little of what's going on here.

My mom is moving out to her house on Tuesday. After that I will commence the Great Reorganization of 2009. The master bedroom is going to get new carpet and we will move in there. Kellen will move into where we're sleeping now, which is officially the study, but it has doors so I'm calling it a bedroom. Bonnie and Noelle will stay in the rooms they're in now. The upstairs will become the guest room/bathroom, and the formal dining room is going to house all of Josh's memorabilia plus a desk, so I guess you could call it a study. I'm planning on doing some painting in the kitchen, and adding cabinet and drawer pulls.

Josh is finishing up his cross country season and heading into basketball season. I don' t know what else to say about that. He's busy but less busy than last year when we had a newborn and a hurricane and he was finishing grad school.

Kellen is continuing to L-O-V-E school. We all (minus Noelle) got to go on his first class field trip to Dinosaur World and had a really great time. Josh and I have noticed that he almost always answers us "yes ma'am" etc. and that right there is worth the price of admission. He's learning a ton and I'm inundated with all sorts of facts about everything. ("Mom, did you know that the milk in our refrigerator is one gallon and an elephant has to drink twenty gallons of water a day?" etc.)

Bonnie is busy with school and playing here. She's excited to have her own room again, and she plays with stuffed animals and dolls a lot. She doesn't like running errands with me. "That's not fun." She's very into chap stick.

Noelle is 14 months old now. She cruises around the furniture but still isn't walking. Josh and I have a bet about if she will walk by Thanksgiving. I say no. She's saying parts of words like "ba" (bath) and "du" (duck) and of course "Mama" and "Da." People think she's a boy because I don' t fix her hair, but she doesn't like it, and I don't really care. She's pretty much really easy to take care of.

My weight loss is 29.2 lb. now, although it's two steps forward one step back because I love my chips and salsa. I feel really busy just taking kids back and forth to school. I've joined a MOPS group to try to meet some people in our area. We really like our church and are making friends there.

A conversation from this morning:

Kellen: Mom, does Santa really come down the chimney?

Me: What do you think?

Kellen: Nah, he comes through the front door when everyone's sleeping.

Me: Sounds good. What do you want from Santa this year?

Kellen: Oh, I'm not thinking about that yet. (5 seconds later) OK, I thought about it. I want a new puzzle with 200 pieces.

Me: I think Santa can bring that.

We have good kids, such a blessing. OK, gotta go, Noelle's awake.
